NATHAN CLARKE will be back in action next week.

The talented centre-back has spent the whole summer and pre-season in recovery from knee surgery.

Now, though, the 19-year-old has been so impressive in training he has earned a place in the Reserves for Wednesday's McAlpine meeting with Hull City (2.00).

The news comes as Nat Brown sees a specialist about a knee cartilage tear.

Brown will need either an injection or small operation to cure the problem and it's not known how long the centre-back or striker will be out.

"Nathan has been training superbly for the last couple of weeks and he is looking excellent," said Jackson today.

"Our intention at the moment is to include him against Hull next Wednesday and we are really pleased about that."

Clarke hasn't played since February, when Town won at Barnsley, while Brown has played only once in pre-season, at Farsley.
