KEN DAVY has reiterated he is not interested in selling Town.

The club chairman and owner has not yet formally met with ex-Hull City chief Adam Pearson, pictured below, who has expressed an interest in buying Town, who he has supported since childhood.

Davy, who met with supporter-group representatives on Monday, said “Our view remains that we are not interested in selling the club.

“I firmly believe we are laying the foundations for Huddersfield Town to have a generation of success, which is not something that can be achieved overnight.

“A glance at the progress of the Huddersfield Giants who, after years in the wilderness, are now one of the most respected teams and clubs in the Super League will give you a very clear idea of what I am determined to achieve for Huddersfield Town.

“The annals of football, including Town, are full of stories of so-called big spenders who have come into clubs and achieved short-term success only to see it all go pear-shaped.

“This is not what I or anyone else who supports Town wants to see happen to this great club.”

The man who rescued Town out of administration in 2003 and who has control of the stadium added:

“I have said publicly that it would be discourteous not to listen to what a potential bidder may have to say and I will be happy to do so.

“Nonetheless, I feel that this is an unwelcome distraction from the main business of the club, which is to get back to winning matches.”
