Coventry City, Crewe Alexandra and Walsall are all keen on out-of-contract Huddersfield Town midfielder Oscar Gobern.

The 24-year-old has held talks with the John Smith’s Stadium club, but nothing has been signed and he is free to consider other offers.

And with the League I trio all showing interest, it seems the ex-England Under 19 international’s Town stint may be about to end after four years.

Signed from Southampton for a tribunal-fixed £275,000, the Birmingham-born former Aston Villa youth player has made 79 appearances.

He has had an injury-plagued couple of seasons, and was loaned to Chesterfield in October, but made an impact at Town during the closing stages of the campaign.

And while Jacob Butterfield, Conor Coady and Jonathan Hogg are considered to be his preferred midfield trio, manager Chris Powell was keen to keep Gobern.

Being left footed adds to his appeal, but Town are working to a strict budget, and are unwilling to move on their original offer.

Bermuda coach Andrew Bascome hopes Town striker Nahki Wells will pass a fitness test and face Guatemala today.
