COLLEGIANS reinforced their title credentials in the Under 15s with victory at Brighouse Town.

Jordan Byrnes and Tom Short scored for the league leaders, looking for a second title, but replies from Joseph Wimpenny, Josh Kaye and Daniel Ramsden ensured a 3-2 win for Collegians who, with only one defeat so far this season, are hoping for an improvement on last year’s third place finish.

In Division II of the Under 15s, Netherton’s hopes of promotion suffered another blow when they were held to a 1-1 draw against Woodkirk Valley.

Linthwaite Under 15s picked up another three points to add to their promotion push with a comfortable win over Norristhorpe.

Promotion-chasing Collegians came through an awkward test in their Under 14 Division III derby with Westend.

In the same section, Hade Edge’s promotion hopes were dealt a blow when they suffered a home defeat against Netherton.

Three West Riding County FA Cup games provided mixed fortunes for RCD League sides.

Clifton Rangers, the league’s last hopes for silverware in the Under 14 competition, suffered a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of BD3 United.

There was better news, however, in the Under 12 Cup where both YMCA and Westwood Jets booked their places in the semi-finals.

YMCA were forced into extra-time by Leeds-based Horsforth St Margarets, but a brilliant hat trick from George Doyle finally settled the issue 3-2 to YMCA, who now meet Oakworth JFC at Woodlesford.

Meanwhile, Wibsey-based Westwood Jets booked their place with a 4-2 victory at Collingham United.
