Huddersfield Town and Radoslaw Majewski could part company in January – but only if another club takes over his loan from Nottingham Forest.

The Polish international midfielder, who has played only once under Chris Powell, is on a season-long stay so can’t return to the City Ground.

But the January transfer window would theoretically allow another club to come in for the 28-year-old former Polonia Warsaw player.

It’s believed nine-times capped Majewski, out of contract at Forest at the end of this season, is desperate to play and is open to a switch of clubs.

Signed by Mark Robins, he featured in the opening-day 4-0 home defeat by Bournemouth which led to the manager’s departure.

There have been two further starts, against Cardiff City and Watford, and four appearances from the bench.

The last of those, and the only one since Powell became boss in September, was in last month’s 3-2 defeat at Derby County.

Jonathan Hogg, Conor Coady, Jacob Butterfield, Harry Bunn, Sean Scannell and, briefly, Diego Poyet have all been in front of Majewski in the pecking order.

Majewski joined Forest, initially on loan, in 2009 and has made 164 appearances (135 starts), scoring 19 goals.

His haul includes a hat-trick in the 6-1 Championship win over Town at the City Ground in February 2013.

He was on target for Town in the pre-season friendly draw with Premier League Newcastle United.

Meanwhile Bournemouth extended their lead at the top of the Championship table to four points with a 2-0 win at Millwall.

Yann Kermorgant’s penalty broke the deadlock and Harry Arter doubled the advantage before half-time, while the Lions had Shaun Williams sent off late on.

With second-placed Ipswich and fellow promotion hopefuls Derby not in action, Middlesbrough moved up to third thanks to a goalless draw at Blackburn.

Wolves continued their recent resurgence with a 2-1 defeat of Brentford at Molineux which included a couple of own goals and a red card. Nouha Dicko put Wanderers ahead early on and James Tarkowski put the ball in his own net to give the hosts breathing space, before Kevin McDonald was dismissed and Danny Batth also scored at the wrong end.
