DANNY SCHOFIELD is eager to stay hot on the goal trail for Town.

The 23-year-old has been in menacing form with strikes against both Hull and Mansfield and he's in no mood to stop.

Confidence is flowing now he's fully over his injury problems and Schofield is keen to be a big goalscoring back-up for frontmen Jonathan Stead, the 14-goal star who is once again in the Third Division team of the week, and Andy Booth.

"I don't mind where I'm playing as long as I'm allowed to attack," said Schofield ahead of today's visit of Cheltenham.

"The gaffer knows I can play out wide, I can play up front or I can play just behind the front two. It doesn't matter to me as long as I can get forward.

"Obviously you have defensive duties to take care of as well, but I don't mind working hard and doing my share and things are going well at the moment."

Schofield reckons Town are on target to challenge for promotion and he believes next weekend's free date could be vital in preparing the squad before the busy holiday period.

"I'm sure we will be doing some hard work to keep us ticking over, but it's a chance to get refreshed and that could well be a good thing," he said.

"We have been a bit up and down, doing really well at home but badly away, but we are keen to build on recent results."
