DANNY SCHOFIELD should finally get the chance to star on his own home territory tomorrow.

Town’s Doncaster-based ace is fit and raring to go in tomorrow’s big Sky televised League I clash with his hometown club (4.00).

It’s been a tough season so far for the 27-year-old, who took compassionate leave following the tragic death of younger brother Luke, 22.

He figured in three games after his return last month but was then sidelined by an ankle injury.

On the bench at Walsall last Saturday, when inconsistent Town lost 4-0, Schofield, pictured, proved his fitness by playing the whole of Monday’s Reserve match against Coventry.

While refusing to divulge his exact line-up, manager Andy Ritchie has confirmed the attacking midfielder is firmly in his thoughts for the Keepmoat Stadium clash.

Town’s longest-serving player (he joined from Brodsworth in 1998) would certainly relish what would be a sixth appearance of the campaign against Rovers.

He was looking forward to playing in the historic first-ever match at the Keepmoat last season, only to be forced to drop out of the New Year’s Day clash because of illness.

Town lost that game 3-0, but Ritchie insists his side have what it takes to collect all three points on their second visit to the venue.

“It’s a meeting of two inconsistent teams, really, and that makes it all the more important that we are fully focused,” he said.

“We know it’s going to be tough, because on their day, Doncaster are a match for any side in the division.

“But we produced good displays against Luton and Nottingham Forest recently, and it’s down to the lads to prove Walsall was a blip.”

Ritchie, who has defender Frank Sinclair suspended, added: “It’s good to have an influential player like Danny Schofield back in the frame.

“Hopefully he can now settle down and have a good, solid run of games.”
