David Wagner's first summer signing has set pulses racing throughout the Huddersfield Town fanbase.
In need of a pick-me-up following Tuesday night's 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough , when keeper Jed Steer was Town's star man, supporters got exactly what they needed when the club confirmed the swirling rumours that Kaiserslautern left back Chris Löwe has signed a pre-contract agreement and will join Town on July 1.
Wagner, who knows the defender well from his time at Borussia Dortmund, revealed that heavyweight clubs in England and Germany had been chasing his signature , and it certainly has Town fans excited about what lies ahead.
Here's what the fans made of the announcement...
There was almost universal appreciation for the move, with fans excited about a player who can offer just as much going forward as he does defensively.
Andrew Marr tweeted: "Excellent news #htafc If that's the quality we are signing in the summer, I'm very happy. Great work DW".
Reacting on our Facebook page , Darren Wormald wrote: "Don't know too much about him but we are sorely lacking quality in this area and it shows."
It was a theme shared by many fans, who wondered what the move would mean for Australian international Jason Davidson, who has struggled for minutes this season behind a pair of loanees - Ben Chilwell from Leicester and James Husband from Boro.
Many fans have already expressed their feelings that investment is needed come the summer , and this is just the first piece of the puzzle.
Andy Sharp on Facebook agreed, noting: "40 assists in 200 games sounds good. Need another striker to help Wells".
Terry, @bluearmyhtfc, tweeted: "This makes me feel better after last nights performance. Just being patient for summer/next season now."
And you can always trust Town fans to see the funny side...
