CRAIG DISLEY believes he can fire Bristol Rovers to victory over Town in the likely absence of Rickie Lambert from tomorrow’s match.

Former Rochdale striker Lambert, Rovers’ top scorer with 20 and a reported target of Town during the transfer window, is struggling with a hip problem.

But Bristol boss Paul Trollope has recently switched from 5-3-2 to 4-4-2, and midfielder Disley believes he is now getting into more scoring positions.

“Last season I scored most of my (nine) goals by coming through the middle, so hopefully I’m going to get more chances,” said Disley, who played wide right in a three.

“It’s been frustrating because this has been my worst season for a good few years in terms of my goals tally (just one so far).

“Because they have not been coming for me it’s probably been playing on my mind more than it should, so it would be nice if a few more chances did come along.”

Ex-Mansfield man Disley 27, joined Rovers in the wake of the Stags’ League II play-off final defeat by Town in 2004, and has 45 career goals to his credit

l Leyton Orient have appointed ex-Colchester boss Geraint Williams as manager until the end of the season. The 47-year-old replaces Martin Ling.
