CHEEKY Chris Hall decided to tell the naked truth when he asked Oldham boss John Sheridan if he could break the club's strict pre-match curfew before Saturday's showdown with Town at the Galpharm.

The 19-year-old midfielder wants a pass out because he is appearing in a stage version of The Full Monty, the story of six unemployed factory workers who strip off in a last-ditch attempt to make some money.

It means he will be putting his kit on to face Town, after taking it off to entertain another audience.

Hall, who is 6ft 2in tall, is playing the part of Horse in the NK Theatre Arts production, which runs from Thursday through to Saturday at a theatre in Stockport.

Initially the football club turned down his unusual request, only to relent when they discovered the play is being staged for charity.

Theatre company boss Darren Stannage said: "Chris came down to watch a show here and the director approached him to take part. He was really up for it, which was fantastic.

"I've warned him to expect some stick from teammates and fans.

"After all, it's unheard of for young footballers to be involved in this kind of thing.

"Let's not forget the nature of this show - he'll need to take his clothes off in front of hundreds of people."

Hall said: "This is something I really want to do.

"I like performing and I will definitely take acting up at some point in the future."

Of the curfew breaking, he said: "You're not meant to be out 48 hours before a game.

"But I pointed out I'd be on stage and so would not be drinking.

"The curfew means the rest of the lads are not meant to be out either, but most of them have said they are coming to watch me!"
