Mark Robins has welcomed Duane Holmes back into the fold at Town and told him: “Work hard on the training ground and force your way into my plans.”

The 19-year-old midfielder has had a five-match loan spell at Championship rivals Yeovil.

He was eligible for the midweek game at Wigan and Saturday’s home clash against Bolton.

But the West Country club elected to end his stay after he was taken off just 29 minutes into Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at QPR.

Red tape prevented Holmes from taking part in Town’s Under 21 clash at Sheffield United.

However the American-born academy product will be free to feature for Town from Thursday onwards.

That means he is available for a 14th appearance for the club at Blackpool on Saturday, if selected.

Duane is training with us again, and I believe the experience at Yeovil will have done him good,” said Robins.

“He started matches, which was what we wanted from the loan.

“He has also had a window on a different way of doing things in the Championship.

Let’s not forget that Duane is still a young player going through a learning process.”

Holmes has just one start in a Town shirt, in the 3-2 home win over Leeds in October.

He made his league debut in the 1-1 draw with Blackpool at the John Smith’s Stadium in September.

“I want Duane to get his head down, work hard and make me include him,” added Robins.
