TOWN fans will get a first chance to see new men Junior Mendes and Chris Brandon in Monday's opening pre-season friendly against Wakefield and Emley at the Welfare Ground (7.30).
Both striker Mendes, signed from Division III play-off final victims Mansfield, and midfielder Brandon, recruited from new Coca-Cola League I rivals Chesterfield, are in a big squad to play the UniBond Leaguers for the Mick Green Memorial Trophy.
It's £4 adults, £2 OAPs and £1 Under 16s, and Jackson is hoping for a bumper turn-out just six weeks after his team clinched promotion by winning that dramatic penalty shoot-out at Cardiff.
Having tried his best to put the brakes on Town's progress, Mendes will now be aiming to hit the goalscoring groove early, and Jackson said: "Both Junior and Chris will be eager to make a bright start.
"They have both been training well, and I'm delighted at how fit they are and how they have applied themselves to the sessions.
"They get on well with the other lads, and they seem to be settling in well.
"We've been back training for a week now and things have gone well.
"All the players met their target weights, and they're looking nice and sharp.
"We've had a tough week, with plenty of running over the first three days.
"But the footballs have been introduced now, and the players' faces always light up when that happens!
"Now they're looking forward to playing a match."
It's the first of eight friendlies, all away.
Town go to Ossett Town on Monday, July 19, then Bradford Park Avenue (Wednesday 21), Harrogate (Saturday 24), Rotherham (Tuesday 27), Farsley Celtic (Wednesday 28), Macclesfield (Saturday 31) and Guiseley (Tuesday August 3).
The first League game is at Stockport on August 7.
