TOWN are extending the contracts of Tyrone Thompson and Adnan Ahmed to the end of this season.
The 23-year-old Thompson has made just one substitute appearance since starting the first match of the season, while Ahmed featured as a sub at Rochdale.
Both have been regulars in the Reserves and Jackson believes they could push through this term.
"The pair of them are still on a learning curve, but they are keen to work and, like a lot of other players here, they've now got the opportunity to prove they are worth new contracts next season," said manager Peter Jackson before training today.
Unfortunately, Town are releasing two of the senior squad - Steve Kenworthy and Joe Washington.
The latter, however, has been unlucky with injuries all season and will be given another month of treatment at the McAlpine to get himself fit to hunt for another club.
"We wish them both the very best for the future," added Jackson.
