Eddie Idlerton will referee Huddersfield Town’s home Championship clash with Brentford on Saturday.

It’s a 15th appointment of the season for the experienced Tyne & Wear whistler.

Ilderton was in the middle for last Saturday’s League II clash between Hartlepool United and York City.

He has taken four Championship games this time around.

Ilderton’s last Town match was the 2-1 home Championship win over Burnley just over a year ago.

He refereed Brentford away to Sheffield United in League I in April.

There was controversy when Ilderton reversed a decision to award Brentford a penalty and red card Blades defender Kieron Freeman after consulting an assistant.

Freeman returned to the field and play restarted with a drop ball.

The game finished goalless.

Ilderton, 44, who has yet to show a red card this season, began refereeing in 1991 and made the national list in 2002.

His assistants on Saturday will be Simeon Lucas (Lancashire) and Scott Oldham .

Darren Deadman (Cambridgeshire) is the fourth official.
