The 45-year-old is the manager of Welsh side Gap Connah’s Quay, who have been handed a two-legged tie against Vojvodina in the second qualifying round.

They were 1-0 aggregate winners over Norway’s Stabaek at the first qualifying stage.

Morrison’s men qualified for Europe by beating Airbus UK Broughton 1-0 in the Welsh Premier League play-off final.

The former centre-back played for Town from 1996-98.

Connah’s Quay, nicknamed the Nomads, were bottom when he arrived last November.

They finished fourth and reached the Welsh Cup semi-finals.

Morrison, signed from Blackpool for £500,000, made 44 Town appearances before joining Manchester City for £80,000 and also played for Plymouth Argyle and Blackburn Rovers.

He has had previous Europa League experience as assistant manager of Airbus UK to Andy Preece.

The pair also worked together at Worcester City and Northwich Victoria.
