FATHER and son Trevor and Nathan Holmes were on target as Clothiers

Arms scored their first victory of the season. Joe Mitchell led the goalscorers with a double strike but further

goals from Scott Smith, Sean Barber and the Holmes's brought Arms a 6-2 win over HD One to take them off the bottom of the table. Kelly and Sam Fikru replied for the losers.

Woodfield Park are the only side in the League with a 100% record

but have played only three games. Their latest victory was a 7-2 success over Field Head with strikes

from Dave Bordman (4), Chris Worsley (2) and Matthew Kidger. Britannia Sports beat joint basement side First Huddersfield 1-0.

This was an even game, where a draw might have been a fair result as

the busmen belied their lowly position with a fine performance. Marsh United and Birkby Amore lead the way with 18 points from seven

matches. United's latest win was a hard-earned 5-3 success over bottom club

Waterloo BC with goals from Michael Boyes (2), Ramon Solano, Chris Riley and David Land. Marsh opened the scoring after only 55 seconds as a defensive error

let in Boyes, who scored with a low shot into the bottom corner. Boyes soon added a second and United looked to be coasting.

But Waterloo had other ideas and responded with a double strike from

Andrew Dunstan to level the scores - one with a well-taken finish, the other with a tap-in. United charged again and good saves from Travers kept Waterloo in

the frame, but 10 minutes before the break Boyes and Taylor combined to set up Riley, who beat Travers from 20 yards. Two minutes before the break Lee Smith was injured and United were

left with only 10 players due to injuries and holidays. Against the run of play United extended their lead, Land shooting

through a crowd of players to make it 4-2. Waterloo picked themselves up again, however, and Matthew Kirwan

made it 4-3 against a tiring United side. But the points were wrapped up when Solano scored a fifth.
