FC Halifax Town are waiting to discover their next FA Cup opponents.

The Shaymen, like their fellow Vanarama Conference clubs, are exempt until the fourth and final qualifying stage.

The third round qualifying takes place this weekend, with the draw for the next stage to follow.

Neil Aspin’s men, who are in Vanarama Conference action at Eastleigh today, have twice made the first round proper.

The Shaymen were beaten 4-0 at home to Charlton Athletic, then managed by current Huddersfield Town boss Chris Powell, three years ago.

And last season, a 2-0 fourth round qualifying win at Nuneaton Town was followed by a 4-1 first round loss at MK Dons.

The reformed club have played 24 FA Cup ties in total.

The first was a goalless home draw with Silsden in the preliminary round in August 2008.

The best FA Cup run recorded by the original Halifax Town was to round five in 1952-53, when a Shay record crowd of 36,885 saw a 3-0 defeat by Tottenham Hotspur.

There was also a memorable 1-0 home win over Manchester City in the third round back in 1979-80.

Guiseley fly the flag for West Yorkshire in the third round qualifying.

The Conference North side are at home to Halesowen Town, of the Northern Premier League.

Ex-Mansfield Town striker Iyseden Christie scored six times as they beat Ellistown & Ibstock United 7-1 in the second round qualifying.

Huddersfield Town star Sean Scannell’s elder brother Damian will aim to help Bromley win at Grays Athletic.

The 29-year-old was on the scoresheet as the Conference South side beat Uxbridge 5-1 in the last round.

Worcester City, beaten 1-0 by Huddersfield Town in the second round proper in 2005-06, go to Leamington.

And former Huddersfield Town defenders Martin McIntosh and Frank Sinclair will be in charge of Northern Premier League Buxton and Conference North Colwyn Bay respectively for ties against AFC Fylde and Warrington Town.
