FC Halifax Town will look to bounce back to winning ways in the Vanarama Conference Premier as they take on Grimsby at the Shay tomorrow night (7.45).

The Shaymen lost only their second game of this season after a 2-0 defeat away to Forest Green Rovers thanks to two first half goals from James Norwood and Jon Parkin – slipping to third in the table behind Barnet and Woking.

Forest Green took the lead through James Norwood when he managed to get on the end of a Sam Wedgbury cross to head in at the back post.

The home side went two goals to the good after Clovis Kamdjo crossed for striker Jon Parkin to side foot the ball past Matt Glennon.

The Shaymen struggled to get going in the first half, the only chances coming from long range efforts.

Town improved after the break create much more chances than the first half, Richard Peniket having the best, but he saw his header go inches over the bar.

The Shaymen couldn’t break down the home team’s defence despite having many chances to get a goal.

“I was very disappointed overall. I thought that in the second half, we improved, but Forest Green having already scored twice and they didn’t really need to push forward,” said Halifax Boss Neil Aspin.
