Huddersfield Town had some top-class performers in the win over Brentford, but only one has made it into the EFL Team of the Week.

Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy made an impressive debut in the 2-1 success and has made it into the Skybet selection.

He is one of only four Championship players in the XI – along with Norwich City’s Wes Hoolihan, Ipswich Town’s Grant Ward and Britt Assombalonga of Nottingham Forest.

The 25-year-old Mooy is on a season-long loan from Manchester City and put his stamp on an opening-day victory which delighted a crowd of 18,479.

He was at the heart of much of Town’s pleasing work and linked well with the likes of Jack Payne, Joe Lolley, Rajiv van La Parra and Elias Kachunga – all of whom could have received nominations themselves.

Mooy was a nine out of 10 performer in winning the Examiner man-of-the-match award against The Bees, who were downed by goals from Kachunga and on-loan Chelsea substitute Kasey Palmer.

Football League Team of the Week: Aaron Chapman (Accrington), Byron Webster (Millwall), Joe McNerney (Crawley), Scott Cuthbert (Luton), Wes Hoolihan (Norwich), Aaron Mooy (Huddersfield Town), Yaser Kasim (Swindon), Marcus Maddison (Peterborough), Grant Ward (Ipswich), Simeon Jackson (Walsall), Britt Assombalonga (Nottingham Forest).
