DANNY SCHOFIELD wants a career-best goal tally this term to push Town towards promotion.

The 25-year-old is targeting 15 for the campaign - which means five more in the final nine matches.

Schofield plays his first Galpharm match against Rotherham tomorrow since signing a new two-and-a-half year deal and he's eager to celebrate with a much-needed victory.

"I'm pleased to have got my contract sorted out because I've been with Town for seven years already and I really enjoy it here," said Schofield today.

"We've got a great club with talented young players, the fans are superb and the facilities are second to none, so I think the future is looking very bright.

"I obviously want to help us win another promotion and if I could get another five goals I'd be delighted.

"The most important thing, though, is that we get back to winning and three points tomorrow against Rotherham is imperative.

"It won't be easy because they had a good win in midweek and will be full of confidence, but we have to look for the sort of performance we know will win us the game."

Schofield will be making only his second start in eight matches for unchanged Town and hunting his first goal in two months.

"With not being in the team, I'm feeling fit and refreshed for this stage of the season and I'm really looking forward to the run-in," he said.

"I'm relatively happy with how I'm playing and I'm hoping to finish the season well.

"There are 27 points left to play for and the lads are determined to win as many of those as we can - starting against Rotherham.

"This is a great club to be at, we've got a bubbly dressing room and, even though I've been here a long time, I still enjoy coming in to training every single day - which was a big factor in me signing a new deal."
