Huddersfield Town took on Accrington Stanley in a behind-closed doors friendly on Sunday.

David Wagner’s side made it two wins from two after victory at Guiseley last week.

Here’s five things to emerge from the PPG Canalside clash:

Jack Payne can punch above his weight

He’s just 5ft 5in tall, but the former Southend United man looks capable of making a big impact at No10.

Against a fairly physical Accrington side, the 21-year-old more than held his own.

Payne looked nimble and strong, and scored a goal into the bargain.

It’s a high line for Chris Lowe

It’s safe to say the German left-back likes to push up.

That was noticeable at Guiseley as well as in Sunday’s training-ground showdown.

David Wagner’s system places real demands on the full-backs, but Lowe looks comfortable.

Huddersfield Town's Elias Kachunga

Elias Kachunga is a hard worker

The on-loan FC Ingolstadt striker has been here, there and everywhere in his two outings to date.

Kachunga has been putting in the hard yards on and off the ball.

He has a big task on his hands to oust Nahki Wells – but the former German Under 21 cap looks hungry.

Andy Hughes has settled in well

Town’s new first-team coach already looks like a key member of the management team.

He was ready to shout out instructions and have a quiet word with David Wagner during play.

Predecessor Mike Marsh had an important role, and hopefully Hughes will too.

Luke Coddington looks capable

He has been signed to work in Frankie Bunn’s development squad.

And all the talk is of a season-long loan for Liverpool stopper Danny ward.

But the 21-year-old goalkeeping grandson of former Town defender John Coddington has looked capable in his own right.
