Frankie Bunn says Flo Bojaj’s recent emergence as first-team level will provide inspiration for Huddersfield Town’s other young hopefuls.

The 19-year-old striker has come off the bench in the last two Championship matches.

Development duo Phil Billing and William Boyle were unused substitutes against Derby County on Saturday.

And Under 21 coach Bunn, whose charges chalked up a seventh straight win at the expense of Nottingham Forest on Monday, says consistency is crucial.

“I think the boys see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel,” he said. “Hopefully we’ll have a few more come through.

“The players have to be patient, but they are showing a level of consistency in what they are doing at the minute.

“You never know when an opportunity will come in football, and when it comes, they have to take it.

“They can only do what they are doing, which is putting in high quality, consistent performances.”

On the progress made by Bojaj, Bunn said: “He had his ups and downs last season, but he took a grip of things and came back from the summer really fit.

“He’s put in consistent performances, hence he’s been in and around the first team.

Town’s 1-0 win over Forest at the John Smith’s Stadium, sealed by a goal from Ronan Coughlan, set up an Under 21 Premier League Cup round of 32 trip to Middlesbrough.
