Former Huddersfield Town centre-back Anthony Gerrard is training with Southend United.
The 29-year-old left the John Smith’ Stadium club in the summer having spent the final two months of the last of his three seasons on loan to Oldham Athletic.
Gerrard, injured during the 2014 pre-season, made only one start and three appearances from the bench for Town last term.
The former Everton trainee joined from Cardiff City in August 2012 and played 91 Town games in all.
He has also played been at Walsall and had loan spells at Accrington Stanley and Hull City.
League I Southend could give him a run-out in their development match against MK Dons on Wednesday.
