Huddersfield Town product Josh Windass has the technique, speed and attitude to succeed at Rangers.

That's the view of Accrington Stanley teammate Andy Little, who saw his first team minutes limited by Windass' success at the League Two club.

The 22-year-old forward signed a pre-contract agreement with the Glasgow giants back in January alongside fellow former Town man Matt Crooks.

And Little, who spent seven years at Rangers after breaking through from the youth team ranks, believes Windass will thrive under the harsher glare that accompanies playing in front of 50,000 supporters at Ibrox.

"Josh came back from the recent Old Firm game raving about it, saying it was the best atmosphere he’d ever experienced," said Little.

"I could tell he was thinking ‘This is my stage’ and ‘Next season I’ll be doing what Barrie McKay did’.

"That is the kind of attitude he’s got — and what you need to make it at Rangers. He’s been playing in front of 2,500 supporters at Accrington but feels he should be playing in front of 50,000."

Little was sent on loan to Accrington from Preston North End in a bid to get more game time, but he didn't make a single appearance.

Windass enjoyed a superb season, scoring 17 times in 35 games.

"Josh was the main reason why I couldn’t get in the team. He was amazing," added Little.

"He plays just behind the striker but the beauty of him is that he pops up everywhere. He is confident on the verge of cocky but a very nice lad at the same time.

"At Accrington he had a free licence and he was given the role of winning the game for the team.

"He really embraced and relished that despite being so young. Joining a very good footballing side with a manager who encourages the team to play will suit him down to the ground. Technically he is good, he is skillful and quick. He is very strong as well. He has got it all."
