FORMER Huddersfield Town defender Andy Holdsworth has signed a new two-year contract at Guiseley.

The deal comes after Town confirmed they will send a side to the Conference North club for a friendly on Wednesday, July 17 (7.45).

Town academy product Holdsworth , a right-back during his time at the John Smith’s Stadium (he played 261 games), now operates in midfield.

He played for Oldham, Morecambe and Alfreton before joining Guiseley in October 2011 and faced Town in pre-season a year ago , when his side won 1-0.

Guiseley reached this season’s Conference North play-offs, only to be beaten by eventual winners FC Halifax in the semi-finals.

“Andy is happy here and he knows the place well,” said Kittrick, whose first-team coach is ex-Town man Chris Holland.

Guiseley will also host League I new boys Bradford in a friendly on Saturday, July 13.

Kittrick said: “We are expecting both Huddersfield and Bradford to bring plenty of fans, and these are big games.”

Northern Premier League side Farsley have signed former Town duo Anthony Lloyd and Matt Young.
