Former Huddersfield  Town player Danny Schofield is on trial at FC Halifax.

The 34-year-old midfielder, who spent a decade at Town, has just left Rotherham.

Signed from minnows Brodsworth for £2,000 in 1998, Doncaster-born Schofield made 281 Town appearances, scoring 46 goals.

He left for Yeovil in 2008 and later played for Millwall.

Schofield had three seasons at Rotherham, with loan spells at Accrington and Stockport.

His former Town teammate Jon Worthington has just been made physio at Halifax.

The Shaymen have a friendly at Tadcaster Albion tonight and host Barnsley on Saturday.

Brighouse Town were 3-2 home winners over Garforth Town in their opening pre-season game.

They are home to a Town XI on Friday (7.00).

Former Town striker Max Leonard was on target as AFC Emley won 2-0 at Shelley.

West Yorkshire League Shelley take on FC United of Manchester at Storthes Hall on Saturday (3.00).

The game will be preceded by a friendly between Town Ladies, who are based at Storthes Hall, and their FC United counterparts, kicking off 1t 12.30.

Admission is £5 adults and £1 children and covers both games.
