FORMER Huddersfield Town striker Leon Knight is hoping to get a three-match ban overturned so that he can make a flying start to life at Glentoran.

The former Terriers striker is available to face Donegal Celtic in the Irish Premiership tomorrow after signing for the Belfast club this week.

But he must then serve a suspension picked up while with former club Coleraine in relation to incidents during a League Cup tie at Cliftonville.

The Londoner, now 29, notched 17 goals in 37 games for Town while on loan from Chelsea in 2001-02.

He has since had spells with Brighton, Swansea, MK Dons, Wycombe, Rushden and Hamilton before signing for Coleraine in October 2010.

The Northern Irish club said last month that they would not continue to pay his travel costs from London for matches.
