Max Leonard aims to stay firmly on the goal trail tomorrow.

The former Huddersfield Town striker will be back on Northern Counties East League duty with AFC Emley after netting twice for Golcar United as they kicked off their West Riding County Amateur League campaign with a thumping 6-0 win over Huddersfield YMCA.

Leonard, 20, is on a dual registration and netted as Emley, the NCEL First Division leaders, beat Ashton Athletic 2-1 in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

He also scored a hat trick in the opening-day 8-1 win at Grimsby Borough for Darren Hepworth’s side, who visit fourth-placed Clipstone in their latest match.

Dean Wharam (2), James Hutchinson and Liam Rothery were the others on target for Golcar against YMCA.

The Colne Valley side’s WRCAL Premier Division rivals Bay Athletic made it two wins from two as they beat Kirkburton 6-0.

Kieran Ryan (2), Mat Willans (2), Steve Smith and Danny Stocker counted for the table toppers.

Storthes Hall drew 3-3 away to defending champions Ovenden WR, where Lee Bradshaw, Eddie Szostar and Liam Coughlan scored.

Tomorrow, it’s YMCA v Salts, Kirkburton v Tyersal, Lower Hopton v Storthes Hall, Ovenden v Golcar and Steeton v Bay.
