David Wagner could be without four of his main attacking players as Huddersfield Town seek a first win in five Championship matches at Nottingham Forest.

Sean Scannell remains sidelined by a knee injury - he could start working on grass with the fitness coaches next week - while on-loan Jamie Paterson is ineligible against his parent club.

Meanwhile there are question marks against both Karim Matmour and Elvis Manu.

Matmour took a knock during last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Preston North End , Town’s third league loss running.

And on-loan Brighton winger Manu has been hit by an illness which has ruled him out of training this week.

Sky Bet Championship - Preston NE (2) v Huddersfield Town (1) - Elvis Manu.

The Dutchman faces a fitness test ahead of the trip to the City Ground, where Town won 1-0 with a goal by Scannell last season.

The 25-year-old has missed six matches so far and isn’t expected back until after the Easter international break.

“Scanz should be back on the grass next week,” explained head coach Wagner.

“He will work with the fitness coaches and how he reacts to that will tell us a lot about how the injury is healing.

“We always like to get a player back a little ahead of the target date if possible.

“But we won't take any risks and at this stage, we’re looking at after the March break.”

That would leave Scannell with eight games, starting with the home game against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, April 2.
