Free tickets are still available for Huddersfield Town’s ‘Welcome to the Season’ spectacular at PPG Canalside on Friday.

It is being run in conjunction with the Examiner and is a new alternative to the Open Day which has been held in previous years.

Tickets are limited to a total of 500 because of restrictions on space at Town’s training ground along Leeds Road.

Free tickets can be collected from the stadium ticket office (01484 434123) and can also be claimed on the club’s website, but there is a £1 charge for reserving tickets on-line.

It’s a chance for Town supporters to get an exclusive look at the Championship squad in training before the start of the new season on Saturday, August 9, when Bournemouth are the visitors to the John Smith’s Stadium.

Manager Mark Robins, new Assistant Manager Steve Thompson, first-team coach Steve Eyre and the rest of the staff will put the squad through their paces on the training pitches as the 500 visitors look on.

Gates will open at 10.30am and the training session will start at 11am. After training and lunch, the players will then take part in a signing session. The team bus will also be on site from 10.30.

Merchandise will be on sale at PPG Canalside on the day for fans to get items signed in person by their favourite players.
