Huddersfield Town left London with a point in the bag - but will be ruing the fact that it wasn't all three.

Only an equaliser deep into second half injury time robbed them of their first three point haul of the season.

Take a look below to see what Doug Thomson made of the game.

1. The Championship is a tight division

This was a third successive draw for Huddersfield Town after those against Blackburn Rovers and Brighton and Hove Albion, and of the 47 games played in the division to date, 23 have ended level.

It was 1-1 between Birmingham City and Derby County on Friday evening, and the day after, there were draws at Bolton Wanderers (1-1 v Nottingham Forest), Leeds United (1-1 v Sheffield Wednesday) and Reading (0-0 v MK Dons) as well as at Craven Cottage.

2 Joe Murphy has what’s needed to make the keeper’s shirt his own

Thrust into the spotlight by Alex Smithies’ departure, the Irishman has responded well.

Murphy showed his experience and agility with a number of fine saves at Fulham, and he really deserved a clean sheet.

3. Jason Davidson is warming to his new task

The Australian international left-back has already played as many matches at club level as he did in the whole of last season for West Bromwich Albion.

The 24-year-old is looking more comfortable defensively and is pushing forward, a key role in the way Town play.

4. Town’s game management is good

Okay, they eventually conceded, but Town look better at closing a game down than they did large parts of last season.

The improvement process began in the closing stages of 2014-15, and while there is clearly still work to do on this front, Powell’s side look like they are getting there.

5. Town now have chance to take stock

A Capital One Cup first-round win would have been preferable, but at least elimination at the hands of Notts County provides a blank week after a busy start to the season.

Saturday’s visitors QPR have a Tuesday-night engagement with Carlisle United – it’s just a shame they are hosting the second-round tie rather than making the long trek up to Cumbria!
