ANTONY KAY will come up against his old Barnsley teammate Paul Reid at the Galpharm tomorrow.

Reid skippered a Reds side which also included Kay when they won promotion via the League I play-offs in 2006, beating Town in the semi-finals.

Former Carlisle, Rangers and Northampton centre-back Reid had almost four years at Oakwell before his switch to Colchester during the 2008 close-season.

He’s been lining up next to former Dagenham and Redbridge man Magnus Okuonghae.

On-loan Wolves man Danny Batth has returned to Molineux for the Midlands club’s final two Premier League games, although Colchester are keen on bringing the 19-year-old back next season.

French defender Franck Queudrue, on loan from Birmingham, is pushing for a recall following a hamstring problem.

Colchester have midfield experience in the form of long-serving Kem Izzet and ex-Leeds man David Prutton.

And frontline danger will be posed by on-loan Ipswich player Kevin Lisbie, who has 12 goals, and hot prospect Anthony Wordsworth, who has netted 11 times.

Boss Aidy Boothroyd can also call on former Cheltenham man Steve Gillespie and Clive Platt, whose previous clubs include Rochdale and MK Dons.

Tomorrow’s referee is Hampshire’s Keith Stroud.
