LEFT the McAlpine with a bottle of champagne after being named Player of the Month by the Blue and White Foundation.

It was recognition of how Brown has been playing since going up front and the Sheffield lad now admits there is only one thing missing from his season.

"I just need to get my name on the scoresheet," said Brown, who had a good chance after 10 minutes against Darlington but fired it wide.

"Once I get that first goal I know there will be more to follow, but I just don't seem to be able to get the break that I need.

"I will keep fighting and keep putting in 100% because I know it will come, and the lads and the gaffer are right behind me and encouraging me all the way at the moment.

"It was disappointing to lose the match and our unbeaten record, but our heads are still up and we will bounce back, no doubt about that.

"The conditions were very difficult and the big storm didn't help.

"You only have to look at the second goal. Phil is a great keeper and that wouldn't have gone past him on any other day.

"It was just one of those things. We didn't get the breaks and even though we kept at it for the whole 90 minutes, it didn't work out for us."
