FORMER Town loan midfielder Gary Harkins has signed for Partick Thistle after leaving Grimsby.
The 22-year-old ex-Blackburn man impressed on trial and put pen to paper on a one-year contract after Saturday’s 2-1 friendly defeat by Ayr.
Glaswegian Harkins said: “I’m delighted to get back to Scotland and to get back to enjoying my football.
“I hadn’t been happy since moving to Grimsby and was a bit homesick.”
Harkins made three appearances for Town during the 2003-04 campaign.
Robbie Fowler has agreed to join Cardiff on a two-year contract.
The 32-year-old striker was released by Liverpool at the end of last season and has rejected moves to Leicester City and Sydney FC.
