KEVIN GRAY is very much looking forward to tackling Town tomorrow - weather permitting.
The 32-year-old central defender spent eight years at the McAlpine before joining Tranmere, and he is now contracted at Brunton Park until the end of next season.
Gray - who still lives in the Holme Valley - is backing his new club to pull off a surprise by collecting three points and cut their eight-point deficit at the foot of the table.
"Huddersfield are going well but so are we - and it is going to be an interesting game," said Gray, who will play alongside ex-Town teammates Chris Billy and Tom Cowan.
"We are more than capable of getting three points and we have a fantastic set of lads.
"It's gone really well since I joined and the lads are first-class. I know the League table doesn't suggest we are a better side than Town, but we are capable of playing a lot of good football and we are a strong side."
Gray - who scored against Town for Tranmere last season - added: "There's always an extra little bit of edge playing your old club.
"But it doesn't matter who we are playing, we need to try to get a result. We are in need of the points and, if we can get three points, that would be brilliant.
"Getting a good result against the fifth-top side would be a great confidence booster."
