Conor Coady says Huddersfield Town are ready to work their socks off to get their Championship campaign back on track.

Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat by Birmingham City left Chris Powell’s side 20th in the table.

They were leapfrogged by Boxing Day hosts Rotherham United, who won 2-1 at Wigan Athletic to go 19th.

Summer signing Coady tasted defeat at the New York Stadium when on loan to Sheffield United from Liverpool last season.

But the midfielder insists Town have what it takes to bounce back from two losses on the trot.

“We’ll get onto the training field and work our socks off to make sure we’re ready,” said the 21-year-old.

“It’s a massive game, and while Rotherham are a good side, we can go there and win.

“We badly wanted to win against Birmingham after that (5-0) defeat at Norwich and we’re bitterly disappointed.

“It was one of those games that had 0-0 or 1-0 written all over it, and they ended up getting the vital goal.

“But is could easily have been us, and we need to keep working hard to make sure we get that break we need.

“We are all about playing quick and probing football, and we didn’t do that against Birmingham.

“I think we started playing too many long balls too early and we need to be more patient.”

Centre-back Joel Lynch, who has missed three games with a groin injury, hopes to be fit for Friday.

Town will be backed by a sell-out 2,600 travelling contingent in the first of two games in three days.

Bolton Wanderers visit the John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday.
