Harry Bunn is back and ready to help Huddersfield Town hijack Derby County’s promotion ambitions at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The 22-year-old frontman has been out a month suffering a hamstring injury but has confirmed his fitness for Saturday’s home showdown with the Rams.

Bunn will be determined to get his name on the scoresheet, too, because he has nine goals for the campaign so far and would live to reach double figures in front of the home fans.

Manager Chris Powell – whose side are safe and bidding to finish the season with an unbeaten seven-match run – is delighted with what he’s seen from the former Manchester City trainee on the training ground at PPG Canalside.

“Harry has been training and he is definitely back in the mix,” said Powell, who is not expecting striker James Vaughan to recover in time from a knee niggle to face Steve McClaren’s side.

“It’s great to have him available again because he has scored many a good goal for us this year and got a few assists as well, so he should be very proud of what he has achieved in his first season.

“People talking about blooding young players, well Harry is a young player who has done very, very well for us and come along at the right time.

“He is looking okay, and hopefully he has done enough training to be available for Saturday.”

Bunn’s last appearance was in the 1-1 draw against Birmingham City at St Andrew’s on March 14.

He was last on target in the defeat at Brentford early last month but he was on the mark in his last John Smith’s appearance, the 3-0 win over Reading in February which took Powell’s men up to 12th.

Vaughan, meanwhile has not been able to return to training having missed Tuesday’s goalless draw at Brighton.
