TOWN might be at the opposite end of the League I table to hosts Hartlepool.

But Ben Clark, who has been earning rave reviews for his recent displays in central defence, insists: "We've no reason to fear you."

The partnership between Clark, a 23-year-old former Sunderland player, and Bury old boy Michael Nelson has helped Pool keep three clean sheets in four games under Paul Stephenson.

That's more than Town have done, and Clark, who is convinced relegation can be avoided, added: "We are unbeaten in four games now and we've got to keep that going.

"We've no need to fear any side, and while Huddersfield must command our respect, there's no reason why we can't get all three points against them.

"We're playing with a lot of confidence now, and we can go into the game positively."

Town will aim for a repeat of last season, when they won 1-0 at Victoria Park with a goal by Andy Booth in front of 6,205.

Pool were beaten 2-1 at the Galpharm earlier this season, when Pawel Abbott and Danny Schofield netted before an 11,241 crowd.
