BRIGHOUSE Town will be at home in the fifth round of the FA Vase – if they can get past Saturday’s hosts Newport on the Isle of Wight.

The winners of the rearranged tie at St George’s Park, postponed last Saturday because of snow, will host Borrowash Victoria or Ascot United in a last 16 showdown on Saturday, February 9.

Borrowash, from Derbyshire, are fourth in the East Midlands Counties League Premier Division while Ascot are 13th in the Hellenic League top flight.

Brighouse will set off on Friday morning for their two-night trip, training en route for Southampton at the new Football Association complex at Burton-upon Trent.

They will take the ferry to the Isle of Wight on Saturday morning, coming back across the Solent that night, and return to West Yorkshire on Sunday.

Brighouse’s fellow Northern Counties East League club AFC Emley will head to Ampthill Town and Enfield 1893 if they can overcome Suffolk’s Hadleigh Sports on Saturday.

Brighouse’s reserve team, who are third in the Galaxy Lancashire League East Division, visit second-placed Hyde tonight.
