TOWN have added club and company secretary Ann Hough to the board of directors.

The 39-year-old becomes the fifth member along with chairman Ken Davy, vice-chairman Andrew Watson and directors Roger Armitage and Ralph Rimmer.

Hough, who joined the club as PA to then-secretary Alan Sykes in 1993, has held the top role herself since 1999.

The former Royds Hall and Huddersfield New College student was credited with playing a key role in the club’s emergence from administration in 2003.

Meanwhile defender Frank Sinclair will line-up against Port Vale Reserves tonight with the aim of proving his fitness for Saturday’s League I trip to Millwall.

Boss Andy Ritchie plans to give Sinclair at least 45 minutes in the Pontin’s Holidays League Central Division fixture at the Galpharm Stadium (7.00).

Striker Andy Booth will also play as a sharpening-up exercise.

While Booth appeared as a substitute in Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat by Carlisle, Sinclair came off during the 1-0 Carling Cup defeat at Blackpool a fortnight ago nursing a hamstring strain.

With David Mirfin still sidelined by a knee problem, the availability of Sinclair, who can play in central defence or at right-back, would be a big boost as Town approach three successive away games (after Millwall, it’s Grimsby in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy first round on Tuesday and Crewe in League I on Saturday week).

“Frank has returned to full training without problem, but it’s prudent to give him a run-out in the Reserves rather than put him straight back into the squad for Millwall,” said Ritchie, who continues to scour the market for a possible loan signing before the end of the August transfer window.
