JED STEER has saved 67.5% of the shots fired at his goal this season.

And newly-released statistics also show Huddersfield Town’s on-loan Aston Villa keeper has had 69 minutes on the pitch per goal conceded.

Those are the 18th and 17th best figures for any player to have featured in 10 or more Championship matches.

When it comes to games per clean sheet, Steer is the 10th best on 3.3.

The 23-year-old, now in his third separate loan spell from Premier League Viila, has played 20 times for Town.

He will be seeking his third clean sheet in five games at home to Cardiff City on Saturday, and seventh in a Town shirt.

Cardiff keeper David Marshall’s save percentage is 75.

Like Steer a former Norwich City player, he has spent 88 minutes on the pitch per goal conceded.

And the 30-year-old Scotsman who started his career at Celtic has played three games per clean sheet.

Both were beaten twice on Saturday, Steer as Town lost 2-1 and Brighton and Marshall as Cardiff drew at home to Rotherham United.

The study of stoppers by the Trinity Mirror Data Unit shows Middlesbrough’s Dimi Konstantopoulos to be the best in the second tier.

The former Hartlepool player has saved 85.6% of the shots fired at his goal, has averaged 174 minutes between each league goal he has conceded and has kept 16 clean sheets in 27 league appearances, an average of one every 1.7 games.

That puts the 6ft 5in 37-year-old Greek international top in all three categries.

The next best keepers based on these stats are Derby County’s Scott Carson and Hull City’s Allan McGregor.

Both Konstantopoulos and McGregor have kept clean sheets against Town, who lost 2-0 to both Middlesbrough (at home) and Hull (away).

Carson was beaten by Harry Bunn, but Derby still sealed a 2-1 victory at the John Smith’s Stadium.
