Huddersfield Town Supporters' Association column: Fans delighted to welcome new boss Chris Powell on board

Praise for Mark Lillis and his work as caretaker manager

HTSA is delighted to congratulate all concerned in the appointment of Chris Powell as Town’s new manager, along with Alex Dyer as assistant.

Let’s not forget the important signings before the transfer deadline, not least of those being Mark Hudson to strengthen our defence, providing a strong squad for the new team to work with.

Special thanks are due to Mark Lillis for such a positive recovery from the disastrous start to the season. It’s reassuring to know the Academy continues to develop in his capable charge.

So we look forward to welcoming our new manager a week on Saturday – let’s hope it’s a winning start for him.

We are also anticipating the Heavy Woollen/HTSA/NSL meeting arranged for next Monday at Millbridge WMC, when the principal guest will be Nigel Clibbens – or will there be a surprise guest to give us a further insight to Town’s new appointment?

The main meeting will begin at 8pm but will be preceded by the HTSA AGM at 7.15pm.

Sandwiched between the announcements of this week’s new arrivals, the All Together Town panel had a meeting on Tuesday evening when new members of the Sodexho team underlined their commitment to improving the catering facilities at the stadium – not just with new sandwiches either!

This led onto a telling insight into the relationship between the Club and the elements that make up KSDL.

The other major topic for discussion was how to improve the match day experience for our younger fans, both those attending with parents and also the Young Terriers.

Anyone with ideas could forward them to the Club or to info@htsa-online.co.uk

So get behind the new management team and provide the 12th man – bring on the Boro!
