Huddersfield Town's winless run was extended to six games on Saturday as 10-man Fulham somehow ran out 2-0 winners at the John Smith's Stadium.

Chris Powell's side were behind inside two minutes when Alex Kacanaklic's right-wing corner sailed straight in at the near post but Town went on to boss proceedings thereafter and Nahki Wells clipped an effort against the base of the post just prior to the break.

But the Bermudian's best chance came when Ishmael Miller's drive was handled on the line by Fulham captain Shaun Hutchinson to gift Town a penalty and saw the central defender given his marching orders.

Marcus Bettinelli kept out Wells with a stunning stop before the Town striker was handed the opportunity to redeem himself from 12 yards when Sean Scannell took a tumble under pressure from Jazz Richards, only to hit the post with his spot-kick.

Jacob Butterfield then hit the crossbar in a Town onslaught on the Fulham goal, but Seko Fofana landed the crucial blow in injury time when he raced clear to slot past Alex Smithies at the second attempt.

But what were the key facts from Saturday's game?

Take a look at some we uncovered below using Opta statistics as Town slipped to 18th and just nine points above third-bottom Wigan Athletic.

68 - Town's highest percentage share of possession in any game this season

The Terriers' dominance was probably best summed up by their ball retention, particularly when Fulham were reduced to 10 men as they secured their highest possession tally of the season.

You have to date back to the pre-Chris Powell era to find Town's highest share after this, coming under caretaker Mark Lillis in the 4-2 defeat at Watford.

31 - The joint-most amount of shots in 2014/2015

Against Wolves, Town posted a staggering 31 shots on goal and yet somehow ended up not only empty-handed, but on the wrong end of a 4-1 defeat to Kenny Jackett's side who were clinical.

On Saturday, Powell's charges matched that feat but didn't even manage to hit the back of the net this time and, rather bizarrely, they managed the exact same total of shots on target from the Wolves game (13).

97 - Clearances made by Fulham

As if Town's dictation of the ball and tally of goalscoring attempts was not enough to prove their superiority, then perhaps this stat will really drive the point home.

The Cottagers completed a quite amazing 97 clearances as Town peppered their goal in the latter stages but could not find a way through, with Hutchinson and Michael Turner (both 18) the most successful.

7 - Jacob Butterfield's key passes

The playmaker pulled the strings once more and was arguably Town's best player as he constantly looked to pick holes in the away side's defence, but ultimately to no avail.

But the fact he supplied seven telling balls underlined his quality, particularly consider the next highest number was two, which applied to six players.

69 - Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli's touches

Possibly the most remarkable number of all is the fact the Cottagers shot-stopper had more touches in the game than any other Fulham player, with his nearest competitor being central defender Turner with 51.

To offer some sort of context, only Butterfield (95) and Conor Coady (90) had more touches than the England U21 international on Saturday, while rather worryingly his tally ranks as more than double Ishmael Miller's (34).
