Huddersfield Town suffered a first home defeat of the season as Watford came from behind to clinch a 2-1 Championship win.

Mark Robins' side took a 17th-minute lead when Danny Ward, making his first start of the season, glanced home a header from Adam Hammill's
cross.

But the advantage was cancelled out within 60 seconds, when Fernando Forestieri volleyed home from Davide Farioni's delivery.

And Watford went in front in the 44th minute through Daniel Pudil, who had a straightforward finish after keeper Alex Smithies spilled Lewis McGugan's free-kick.

Anthony Gerrard's lapse let in Troy Deeney on the hour, but Town had an escape as the Watford striker shot over with only Smithies to beat.

There was another let-off in the 73rd minute, when a Watford counter-attack ended with on-loan Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran shooting wide when well placed.

Town substitute Sean Scannell came close in the 89th minute when he forced his way into the area and brought a good save from Manuel
Almunia with a low shot.
