Huddersfield Town brought a halt to their seven-game winless run in some style by seeing off play-off chasers Ipswich Town with a deserved 2-1 victory on Easter Monday.

Chris Powell's side took the lead midway through the first half when Nahki Wells bent home a left-footed effort from 25 yards beyond Bartosz Bialkowski, with James Vaughan doubling the advantage with a perfectly-weighted header from Jacob Butterfield's precise cross to the back post.

Ipswich threatened to come on strong when Luke Varney pulled one back just after the interval but they failed to truly test Alex Smithies as Town held on comfortably for a well-deserved first win in eight games.

But what were the key facts from Monday's game?

Take a look at some we uncovered below using Opta statistics as Town moved up to 17th and some 12 points clear of the bottom three.

6 - The number of dribbles completed by Town

This was one of the finest attacking displays in recent memory from this Town side as they went for their visitors from the outset and were rewarded with a performance full of confidence and purpose.

That was in stark contrast to Ipswich, who completed half of Town's total themselves with Nahki Wells and Sean Scannell the top dribblers for Town with two apiece as they took the game to the opposition.

7 - Aerial duels won by Oscar Gobern

The Tractor Boys may have come out on top marginally with 27 aerial duels won as a collective to Town's 24, but Gobern - who impressed on a rare start - excelled most aerially for the home side.

Christophe Berra made 12 aerial duels but Gobern's own tally of seven bettered Mark Hudson (six), James Vaughan (five) and various Ipswich players to offer an important physical edge to the midfield trio of himself, Conor Coady and Jacob Butterfield.

59 - Town's top two for touches of the ball

Jacob Butterfield is accustomed to being the Town player with most touches at the full-time whistle, but here he had to settle for a share of the title, with new loan signing Reece James managing to equal his effort of 59.

Ipswich's sterile domination of the ball in the second half led to four of their players - namely Cole Skuse and Luke Chambers (66) - managing more touches, but they proved futile by comparison.

82.9 - Butterfield's passing accuracy percentage

Given his overall season average in this field of 76.9% per game, this shouldn't prove overly surprising, but the midfield craftsman's influence here was tangible and it helped him register his sixth assist of the season in the process.

His floated pass for Vaughan's headed goal was simply breathtaking and showed the risks he takes with his passing as he looks to break defensive lines, but still manages to post a more than respectable total.

100% - James Vaughan's sharp shooting accuracy

Three shots on goal and each of them landed on target. Only one found the back of the net but Vaughan - who had only scored once in eight before Ipswich arrived - looked back to his predatory best.

That was most suitably summed up when he looped his header over Bialkoswki for Town's second and was in stark contrast to Nahki Wells who, despite his outstanding display, will be disappointed to have only hit the target once from five efforts as he bids to finish top scorer this term.
