Huddersfield Town fans believe a top-half finish is on the cards in the Championship next season, according to the results from our end-of-season survey.

Of the fans who answered our question, some 74.48% of supporters believe Town are capable of making the next step in 2015/16 and pushing on to secure a place in the top 12.

20.92% of the Terriers faithful are less optimistic, believing that another bottom-half final position will be secured but just 2.09% feel Town will be relegated next season.

Town were in the bottom half of the table all season long under first Mark Robins and then Chris Powell, with a brief flirtation with the top 12 clubs coming after a 3-0 success over Reading back in February.

Fans were also fairly unequivocal when it came to assessing whether the club are in a better position now than they were a year ago under Robins, with a huge 91.63% believing Powell has improved the club's fortunes, tallying with their high hopes for next term.

And there is also a confidence amongst the fanbase that, unlike his predecessor who departed following the opening-day humiliation to Bournemouth, that Powell will remain at the helm for the foreseeable future.

Asked whether or not Powell will still be here at this time next season, 92.47% responded yes and just 7.53% believe Town will require another new manager before the 2015/16 campaign is out.

Their confidence moving forwards is in stark contrast to how fans saw this season going, with 74% of fans tipping Town for a bottom-half finish at the start of 2014/15 and just 21.6% believing the team could secure a top-half berth.

The season represented some form of progress for Town given that this was their best final league position in 15 years, but Powell is demanding more from his players ahead of the new season and fans clearly share the manager's view that the team needs strengthening.

A comprehensive 98.8% suggested as much, with 57.32% suggesting one to three signings are needed to the 41% who believe a bigger overhaul of four to six additions.
