HUDDERSFIELD Town are reported to have sealed the signing of Scottish centre-back Murray Wallace from Falkirk but the 19-year-old could be loaned back for the rest of this season.

The former Rangers junior has been tracked by a string of clubs South of the border, including Brighton and Ipswich.

SkySports News say an initial £300,000 fee has been agreed for the player who featured in Sunday's Scottish League Cup semi-final clash with Celtic.

The Bairns, who sold midfielder Scott Arfield to Town in the 2010 close-season, are pushing for promotion to the Scottish Premier League.

Murray has played 24 times for Falkirk, scoring twice.

Bairns boss Steven Pressley told Falkirks official website: "The deal has almost been concluded but there are one or two bits and pieces to finalise.

"Murray has been fantastic for us but it is not the parting of the ways as the deal means he will remain at Falkirk till the end of the season.

"It is an excellent bit of business by the club for, with add-ons, it could mount up to quite a substantial figure over time.

"Obviously we will miss him when he eventually goes as he is a terrific young player. However, this is part of our long-term strategy and we are comfortable with the move."
