Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell was left still looking for his first win of the season after his side went down 2-0 at unbeaten Cardiff City.

Second half goals from former Town player Anthony Pilkington and striker Joe Mason pushed the home side up the Championship ladder, while Town remained in the relegation positions.

Powell, who side travel to his former club Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night, said: "The first half we did well enough, but in the second the game went away from us a bit.

"We played very well at times, but you have to see things out in the Championship.

"And it was hard to take that we felt we should have had a penalty for a foul on Harry Bunn but that was not given and in the next minute Cardiff were one-nil up."

Powell started with loan signings Jed Steer in goal, Elliott Ward in central defence and Jamie Paterson supporting Nahki Wells in attack, while both Emyr Huws and Mustapha Carayol came off the bench.

"We had got a few debutants in and it will take time for us to gel," added Powell.

"There we some aspects we could be happy with, but there have been a lot of changes ."
