Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner says he is happy with the balance between fitness ad tactical work so far this pre-season.
After beating Accrington Stanley 4-1 at PPG Canalside on Sunday, his new-look squad had another behind-closed-doors work-out, this time at the John Smith’s Stadium, and registered a 2-0 win over Rochdale.
Wagner, who gave a run-out to new Slovenian defender Jon Gorenc Stankovic, was missing only skipper Mark Hudson and forward Joe Lolley.
Lolley was rested while centre-back Hudson is set to miss Saturday’s second public game at Oldham Athletic after taking a bang on the knee against Accrington.
However Wagner said: “It’s nothing serious, we just need to take the right precautions.
“With Joe, we just needed to protect him and he will be back in training as normal.”
League I Rochdale sent a strong side and Wagner added: “It was a good test and a good win."
