LEE CLARK has praised Lee Novak and he continues to monitor Tamas Kadar’s fitness.

The on-loan Newcastle left-back came off after 40 minutes at Walsall after feeling tightness in a hamstring.

Striker Novak made way for Gary Roberts at half-time, with the manager explaining it was a tactical change.

“I asked Lee to do a job which wasn’t normal for him, because I knew his attitude and application are always spot-on,” said Clark.

“It wasn’t his best performance from a technical point of view, but he put in a real shift and the rest of the lads appreciate that.

“I wanted to go into the second half with more natural wide men in Robbo and Anthony Pilkington, and it seemed to work.”

On Kadar, who made his second start for the club, Clark said: “We’re letting the injury settle down and then, if necessary, we’ll liaise with Newcastle over what course of action to take.”
